Piano Writer

Piano Writer

Writing is playing piano.

Fingers skim along keys,

Searching for combinations

To create melody, song, story,

Hushed moments that build

To an exultant, triumphant finale

After which, in encore,

Tender fingertips kiss,

Bless each word and keep them

Hold tight, then let go

Up, off, aloft

Into the night

Where I hope, and I pray

You are…

Listening.
